A FOCUS ON YOUTH

We are excited to introduce a new Kiowa Youth Athletic Board of Directors and look forward to building up our youth programs and communication with you. We appreciate all the past dedication and time that was given to this youth association prior to our new board. Thank you to all that helped bring youth sports and physical activity to our community, we will pride ourselves in carrying out that same mission.

You may wonder why you should invest so much time and money into youth sports? Improved physical health is the most obvious benefit. Youth sports are a fun way to increase a child’s physical activity level and develop lifelong habits for good health. Kids who play sports often outperform their peers in the classroom. Attendance and grades are better. Kids who play youth sports have higher self-esteem, stronger connections with their school, better peer relationships, and fewer behavioral problems.

The discipline and training needed to participate in sports help to develop successful adults. Athletes learn the importance of teamwork and the following of leadership. They also learn to win and lose with dignity. Being an athlete takes time and requires initiative and self-motivation. Sports help kids to develop self-control, persistence, and accountability. Youth sports also provide invaluable opportunities for kids to engage in important and positive relationships with adults.

Our mission as parents of Kiowa youth is to develop a program that the kids can be proud of, create school spirit, and provide communication to parents.
